Location of Cathedral Grove and MacMillan Provincial Park

The following maps show the location of Cathedral Grove and MacMillan Provincial Park at several scales. As well, two additional maps show the current and proposed parking lots within the park, and additions that will be made to the land base of the park. Please note that the larger maps may take longer to load due to their file size.

This map shows the topographical relief of the area around the park. The 3D TIN map was made with a GIS program called ArcScene. MacMillan Park is shown in light green, with the new addition shown in yellow (approximate size and shape only). A large version of the map can be found <<here>

This map shows the location of the extensive winthrow damage that has occurred in the park and in the vicinity of the proposed parking lot in the addition to the park. It also shows some of the logging that has occurred adjacent to the park. More logging has occurred in the area, but we have not located maps that we can use to accurately show it. The windthrow and logging areas shown on this map were digitized from the 1997 Hay and Company Consultants Inc. hydrology report. A large version of this map can be found <<here>>

This map, created by the BC government, shows the proposed addition to the park, the locations of the existing parking lots, and where the proposed new road and parking lot will go. The big feature trees are located next to the existing parking lot. A large version of the map can be found <<here>>

This map shows the current boundaries of Cathedral Grove, MacMillan Provincial Park, and adjacent protected areas. The area that the Western Canada Wilderness Committee proposes be made into a park is in dark green, below the light green area of the existing MacMillan Provincial Park.
