We vacation regularly in the Victoria, Port Alberni, and Tofino and were appalled to see the road construction along Highway 4 on a recent trip to Tofino.

We were even more appalled to learn that B.C. is planning to cut down old growth trees to widen the road.

The idea of cutting down old growth trees to widen a road that really does not need widening is nonsensical.

We happily join the growing list of people who will boycott B.C. products, starting with B.C. Hothouse tomatoes and B.C. wood products, and vow to not travel to Vancouver Island, starting by cancelling an upcoming Victoria trip, until these plans are scrapped.
