Join the Peaceful, Witness Protest

Western Canada Wilderness Committee, Mid Island Chapter

Cathedral Gove - If you can be a witness to this event, I am asking people to be in the Grove first thing in the morning to quietly and peacefully and legally witness this event. I will be asking people to respect the law and refrain from interfering with the logging. The importance of witnessing this "Class A" event on a world stage within the most visited "Class A" Provincial Park in BC, should speak volumes about shortsightedness on not only forestry issues, but also about the absence of reason for collapsing education, health and social programs in BC.

If you want to join the witness protest, please contact:

Carmanah Forestry Society

Victoria, Legislature Buildings - We wish to commence a continuous presence at the Legislature Buildings in Victoria, British Columbia Canada. We are willing to billet people who wish to participate in this action. Imagine how more effective you might be working on a campaign in the governments' face, rather than spending the same six months in the "slammer" (jail). Please contact us at the address below, letting us know the dates and times that you can be available. This will always remain a respectful legal event.

We also need assistance with sign painting, materials, and people willing to help with the logistics of keeping this campaign active. Many things you could do from home.

If you can help, please contact:

Syd Haskell

Also, please take a minute to write a letter or email to the government and the media to help raise awareness and convince the government to hold a open public review. <<go here>>
